Director of Clinical Information Systems - New Jersey

Manages the clinical application information system group that has specific responsibility for building or configuring, maintaining or enhancing, and eventually decommissioning applications, products or technology solutions through the life cycle.

This group is responsible for all applications and technology-enabling products related to clinical care delivery.

The Director of Clinical Information Systems is also closely aligned with corresponding operational, business and administrative leaders for The company, a leadership model responsible for clinical and business outcomes driven by the application products.

EDUCATION: Master s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Healthcare related field required. Instead of a Master s Degree, a Bachelor s degree is required, and an additional four years of experience is required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 8 years of IT-related and Healthcare experience is required (Instead of a Master s degree, Bachelor s Degree is required, and a total of 12 years of experience is required)
  • A minimum of 3 years as a manager required
  • Advanced knowledge of applications and technology integration
  • Ability to mentor team
  • Experience in managing multiple projects
  • Provides leadership, vision and direction to the clinical information systems organization to ensure it will contribute to The company s achieving its goals.
  • Works with leaders to develop overall clinical information system strategy in the context of the clinical operations and business strategies and initiatives of The company.
  • Develop productive relationships with clinical operations and business leaders and service line managers across the organization to influence how clinical applications can enable new sources of value.
  • Defines and enhances methodologies and practices for the clinical system life cycle management in line with best practice and practical experience of continuous improvement.
  • Provides support and facilitates innovative and experimental clinical information system work to test new ideas with bounded cost and time frames.
  • Ensures that clinical information system processes (including those of third-party consulting or external service providers) are conducted in line with corporate social responsibility, environmental and technical policies and applicable regulatory standards and legislation.
