Responsible for providing architectural and operational expertise around compute services (Data Center, Server, Storage, Managed Services, IAAS and PAAS) for company's worldwide operations. This includes defining and implementing the server and storage technical architecture in different environments (on-premise, managed services and cloud), maintaining accountability for the operational execution of the IT compute function, providing management oversight of IT architecture, directing operational delivery resources, and oversight on operational expenses.

  • Act in a capacity of adviser and build credibility and trust with key business and technology leaders, to achieve departmental and company goals/objectives.
  • Construct, review and analyze business cases for proposed initiatives, projects and present those findings.
  • Responsible for the leadership and growth of a diverse and global team of technologists focused on all areas through performance appraisals, mentoring, employee development, and training. 
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and technological changes that can improve productivity and/or quality to insure scalability, robustness, reliability, and efficient infrastructure environment.
  • Ensure staff and systems adherence to company policies, IT best practices, regulatory and compliance requirements are met for all platforms  to include but not limited to SOX, PCI-DSS, security  and  compliance  regulations,  etc.
  • Work with counterparts to achieve highest level of security, internal and external compliance.
  • Manage all global data centers and other 3rd party managed service providers based on contract obligations, SLA's, and performance metrics.
  • Responsible for all computing services related to server engineering, email services, SAN/NAS solutions, OS, patching, virtualization, backup and recovery management solutions, Citrix, and all other related functions.
  • Manage the day to day support of all production platforms to ensure the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of the servers, services being delivered and stored information. 
  • Establishes policies, standards, practices, and security measures to assure effective and consistent information and operations.
  • Provide management oversight, make necessary recommendations, and execute disaster recovery, building redundancy and continuity of server environments.  Prepare and keep current documentation on all managed systems, including disaster recovery plans.

EDUCATION:  Bachelor's degree in MIS or related field of study is preferred; or any equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience.

EXPERIENCE:  8 - 10 years of IT related experience with a strong emphasis on problem solving and leadership of technical teams.

"Extensive knowledge" of data center operations, data center applications, client/server computing, and production operations support.  Specific technologies of note include but not limited to Microsoft Server & Client operating system and infrastructure applications, VMware, Citrix, NetApp Enterprise-level SANs and other related technologies. Comprehensive knowledge  of  Computer  hardware  and  software  used  in  a  networked  and  web based environment. Knowledge of information technology  designs,  setups,  installation,  implementation  and maintenance. Extensive knowledge of working with cloud providers, managed services of various degrees of IT services and products. Comprehensive knowledge  of  security  issues,  crisis  management  and  business  continuity;  and  legal issues regarding technology. Knowledge  of  existing,  evolving  and  new  technology  resources  and  how  to  tie  these investments to improved  business performance. Knowledge of driving new continual improvement to IT's strategies in response to  evolving needs.  Working knowledge of office practices, basic business principles, industry specific terminology. Knowledge of quality assurance concepts and procedures.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal relationships, leadership and management principles and decision making abilities.  Excellent  organizational  skills,  to  include  demonstrated  ability  to  retool  a  complex organization to meet changing demands. Administrative experience in planning, financial management, administering performance reviews and management of staff.  Experience working with multiple units  and/or  organizations,  building  relationships,  and with highly collaborative projects. Demonstrated critical thinking and planning at a strategic, global level.  Ability to translate strategic plans into specific objectives, and to create and execute project plans to achieve objectives. Proven experience in defining program objectives  and  establishing  information  technology  standards, policies, and budgets. Proven experience in managing multiple projects, including development and management of budget.
