Video Systems Engineer / SME

Location: Bethesda, MD (Hybrid – Onsite 3x/week)
Duration: 10 months (likely extension)

Rate: $140K–$150K + bonus & benefits

Overview:
Seeking a hands-on Video Systems Engineer / SME to lead enterprise video conferencing design, implementation, and support for this government agency -  Unified Communications and Collaboration (UCC) team. This is a highly technical role supporting video modernization efforts across hundreds of conference rooms.

Top Responsibilities:

• Architect and implement enterprise video services (MS Teams, Cisco, vBrick, Webex, etc.)

• Design and standardize A/V conference rooms (Cisco Room Kits, matrix/distribution systems)

• Provide Tier III support and troubleshoot video/VoIP issues (e.g., call drops, codec mismatches)

• Document processes and support lifecycle management of UC/video systems

• Collaborate across internal teams and end-users to deliver seamless solutions

Must-Have Skills:

• Expertise in MS Teams Meetings, Cisco VCS/TMS, eCDN platforms (vBrick, Microsoft eCDN)

• Deep knowledge of video protocols: SIP, RTMP, H.264/H.265, HDMI resolutions, audio/video codecs

• Hands-on experience with Cisco Room Kits, video matrix/distribution, digital signage

• Strong troubleshooting of VoIP/video issues (dead air, call drops, etc.)

• Ability to work onsite in Bethesda 3x/week + on-call support when needed

• Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills

Preferred Certifications:

• Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Admin or Collaboration Comms Engineer

• CCNP Collaboration
